There are many public places along the Fox River to safely view and photograph ships. The Green Bay Metropolitan Launch offers views of all traffic coming and going in the river and a good view of traffic in the bay as well. Another excellent place is the Fox River Trail which offers good views of ships at Western Lime, K&K, C. Reiss, LaFarge, Northeast Asphalt, and Georgia Pacific.

Metro Launch:

The Metro Launch is a great place to view all ship traffic coming into Green Bay. Ship traffic going to any dock in the port must pass the Metro Launch, so with good timing your sure to catch them. The Metro Launch also lets you see approaching traffic out in the channel for quite a distance. After a vessel passes the Metro Launch, you will still have plenty of time to head over to the next location for photos, because after a vessel passes buoy 30 (Mouth of the Fox River) they begin slowing down for the bridges. The Metro Launch has public restrooms in the summer and a nice grassy area along the river.

Fox River Trail:

The Fox River trail runs along almost the entire east side of the Fox River giving you decent views of all but 4 of Green Bay's terminals. There are many places to park and walk along to trail to get the best angle of ships at major terminals like La Farge, C. Reiss, and Western Lime.
